Title says it all. When do you think you'll leave ATRL?
Whether it be boredom, the heavy restrictions on the site etc, what will be the last straw to make you leave?
Probably within the next year. Not because of anything in the OP but because recently I realized how much stan culture has negatively affected my views on music and artists.
It's fun to drag and be stupid sometimes but like... I used to be a fan of Beyonce and Lady Gaga before I started using social media and this. I think their fans have such opposing views to my other favorite artists that I eventually couldn't enjoy the artist themselves anymore, which is stupid. It probably reflects my flaw in taking things too personally.
But even besides that, the way I enjoy music now is so different from how I enjoyed it before twitter, tumblr and atrl. I can't quite put my finger on it but it's just different and not in a good way.
I feel like I've been too...addicted? To this site and will leave next year. I don't enjoy it as much as I did 2 years ago. I can always lurk when needed but the atmosphere has gone down for me. It was fun but now it's a site where gay guys can express their love for artists cake, budge etc & the heavily chart obsessed Stan wars have ruined my way of enjoying music.
Also I'm not against gays. It's just not for me. It's like when a straight person is in a gay club. You start to feel uncomfortable.
Stan culture is tiring. I don't want to just talk about that. I want to know people and what they do and how they're feeling. There's more to relate to than just who you Stan for or sexuality.
