Poll: Is Beyoncé segregating the gays?

With Beyoncé as a focal figure in Pop and R&B, she is in a position to raise awareness for the plight of homosexuals constantly subjected to peer pressure, abuse, racism and whatnot. Being a Black Female, she constantly works to to better the services of African-Americans & Females?

But what about the gays? They are a much-maligned minority group and yet her music nor videos have pointed towards equality for homosexuals. In addition, i fail to recall a moment in her career where she has actively advocated for Gay rights.

Now, i know it is not my place to call her out but what explanations for this when her peers such as Aguilera and GaGa have campaigned vicariously (Aguilera's classic "Beautiful" was an ode towards homosexuals"). Is it because she feels she has nothing to offer them? Could she feel more of an entitlement to helping African-Americans? Is there an apprehension to do so in case the African-American community (who are not too welcome to homosexuality) react negatively?

I'd really love to hear some thoughts.

Besides many of the songs are very relatable for us gays anyways, does she need to sing GAYS GAYS GAYS to show her support?
I am pretty sure she does what she needs to in silence without announcing the world (like certain people) that she did something for the community

Well, you said yourself she's working much harder to move towards equality/recognition of the African-American and female communities. I think it's because honestly those are the two minorities she identifies with. If some gay white male from ATRL became a big pop star, they would probably have more songs about gays than about African-Americans or women.

She's been about the empowerment of women, particularly women of color, from the very beginning and with 5, the message has gotten more serious and sophisticated in execution.

It's not that she has anything against the LGBT population, but she can't be all things for everyone.

It's hard for some artists to write/sing songs about gay inequality when they've never really experienced it. Bey has experienced racial prejudice and women inequality- that's why it's so easy for her to relate and sing about those topics. Personally, I prefer it that way. I don't want to hear a straight white woman singing about how hard it is to be a gay male.
