Not At All, Carrie and Ashlee belong to differents markets, while Carrie is Country, Ashlee is Pop and Rock.

The only way there will be competition is if the albums are released the same week. If Ashlee releases her album the same week as Carrie she and her people are dumb because Carrie will blow just about anyone out of the water in sales. I am guessing Carrie will sell between 300,000 and 400,000 copies the first week while Ashlee will be between 200,000-300,000 more likely 200,000-250,000 range. This will give Ashlee a #1 album as long as she doesn't release her album on the 23rd or 30th. Ashlee needs to release her album either before or at least 3-4 weeks after Carrie's album to guarentee her a #1 debut.

Anyways, that is a good picture, but Ashlee Simpson doesn't even have a lead single out yet, so why would she release an album so soon?

I guess we will find out the real story in the September issue of 17 from Ashlee. She will be talking about her single and album then so I guess we will find out. It might be a good move for her to wait a couple weeks since Carrie just released her new single. Let the publicity and newness of Carrie's single wear off before she releases her new single. As long as she releases the new single by the end of August she could still release the album in October. Actually, the closer to October the better because her single will still be getting decent play when her album comes out.

Also, to answer the other post above Carrie may well be country but she is also a huge crossover to pop so she is a little bit of a threat to Ashlee...I could see Ashlee and Carrie being nominated for certain awards in the same category. Of course in Ashlee's case even if she was nominated for an award and lost to Carrie it would still be a huge honor since I don't think Ashlee has even been nominated for any big awards besides MTV awards.
