Despite the 32-year-old’s painful 2002 split with former sweetheart Justin Timberlake, she says their three-year romance was one of the best times in her life – especially the 2001 American Music Awards, where the couple walked the red carpet in matching denim outfits.

‘It was a pretty carefree time,’ she told the Telegraph. ‘We were just, like, “We look great, let’s go!” I have great memories of that time – there were a lot of rehearsals, but there was also a lot of clubbing and a lot of dancing.’

She added: ‘I still think the best night of my life was when I was 22 years old. It was New Year’s Eve and I was in Hawaii.’

But the mum-of-two has not been put off love and is now happily dating David Lucado.

‘You put yourself through it again and again,’ she said. ‘But each time love takes you over. It feels different every time for me.

‘Every guy who I’ve been with, it’s been a different kind of love. And right now, I’m having a magical love.’

She doesn't care about them, obviously. When David gives her the baby girl she's been dreaming of, she'll have no use for SP and JJ. No longer will she have reason to put SP in frilly dresses. It'll break his little heart.

I wouldn't read too much into her comment/interpret her words literally. I assume that, in the process of talking about the "good old days," she was reminded of one really fantastic evening (but not necessarily her literal "best day ever") and brought it up without really thinking about the cynics (such as yourself) who would notice her unintentional oversight.

I have only seen the first episode of that, which wasn't that bad, but it didn't make me want to watch the other episodes. Which were probably way worse with some of the small videos I've seen of it.
