Everyone is going to have differing opinions on this depending on their own musical tastes.
I think Kurt Cobain needs to be acknowledged too.

1. Michael Jackson (No need for explanation right. He's influenced every single solo artist on the planet and was a contributor to several music genres. He's also the reason for music videos)
2. The Beatles (influenced almost every rock band on the western world, some pop acts, etc.)
3. James Brown (No James Brown, no funk, no disco, no hip hop, no house, no dance)
4. Jimi Hendrix (Most influential guitar artist/performer of all time)
5. Aretha Franklin (Most influential vocalist and R&B artist of all time)
Not sure how to list the rest; Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Prince, Kraftwerk, Grandmaster Flash, Madonna, Bob Marley, The Rolling Stones, Afrika Bambaataa, David Bowie, Ike and Tina Turner, N.W.A, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Who, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Diana Ross & the Supremes, Nirvana, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey.
There's so many.

Bowie definitely needs to be up there too.
I also think at least one rapper needs to be up there, rap blew up in the last 30 years. For me it would be Eminem but realistically it should be Tupac or the Notorious BIG.

Not really. I don't listen to half of the people listed in the OP, but I do recognize them being as being among the most influential.
