Prisoners was a truly vile movie. I'm not surprised Owen Gleiberman liked it, but it stands out as the absolute worst film-going experience I had this year.

12 Years A Slave is a great movie but it's not the best of the year. Before Midnight and Place Beyond the Pines are better.
I LOVE Before Midnight (I think it's the best of the series). But 12 Years A Slave is definitely superior. It's brutality take on slavery is groundbreaking in film history.

No where near the top 10. I remember one EW reviewer gave Spring Breakers an A, I was hoping it'd be in their top 10.
Before Midnight and Place Beyond the Pines are better.
Place Beyond the Pines is terrific.
