AN AFRICAN-American girl has been told she has to cut her "distracting" natural hair style or be expelled from school.
Vanessa Van****, 12, says she was told by Faith Christian Academy in Orlando, Florida, that she has to cut her hair or find a new school, Local 6 reports.
However, Vanessa has no plans to straighten or cut her natural hairstyle, which the school has called “a distraction”.
"It says that I’m unique,” she said of her distinctive hairstyle, which has made her the target of bullies.
"First of all, it’s puffy and I like it that way. I know people will tease me about it because it’s not straight. I don't fit in."

Could you imagine being a parent and someone calling you into school to tell you how your daugthers' hair is "distracting"
I mean couldn't they have just moved her to a seat where it isn't distracting. Like one all the way to the side so that she isn't "distracting" of the chalkboard. I mean there's so many ways to fix this without expulsion. Ridiculous
It's not racist when it's because of her big hair.
And that school sucks. I'm glad schools with really strict rules like this and school uniforms etc. aren't a thing where I live. There are a few private schools who have them, but it's far from the norm luckily.
