Disney has announced release dates for a live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book and for the Johnny Depp-starring Alice in Wonderland 2.

The Jungle Book will bow first on October 9, 2015, and then the Alice in Wonderland sequel will follow on May 27, 2016.

Disney previously released an animated Jungle Book - which featured the voices of Louis Prima and George Sanders – in 1967, and followed it in 1994 with a live-action version starring Jason Scott Lee.


lice in Wonderland 2 will see Depp back as The Mad Hatter and Mia Wasikowska returning to play Alice, but The Muppets' James Bobin will be stepping in for director Tim Burton.

Linda Woolverton is attached to write the sequel, after previously penning the first film.

Burton's Alice in Wonderland made over $1 billion at the box office.

How are they going to do an Alice in Wonderland 2?

The 1951 Alice is the best and most classic. The live one was ok.
And the second Alice movie is based on "through the looking glass".

Not here for either, how exactly does a live action Jungle Book work when all the character but one are talking/singing animals? and Alice in Wonderland 2… not necessary. Just for the money.

Never been a fan of live action disney. Or cartoon to live.

Ugh, they are expanding upon that horrible live action Alice movie? Just... no.

The first Alice was cute, there's no need for a sequel, like at all.
And The Jungle Book will bomb that's for sure.

Jungle Book has the potential to be really amazing or really ******.
