Man, I just rented this film to see how JT is as an actor but...wow. This movie blew me away. It's just dark, and sad, and brutal, and cruel how they could've done to that 15-year-old kid (the execution scene is heartbreaking). It's a true story btw. And man JT is amazing in it. Dude's got some serious acting chops. If you haven't seen it already. Rent it. You won't regret it.

I was just watching it the other day. I remember the first time i watched it, I was with a girl who seriously started bawling at the "big scene." She said she'd never gotten like that during a movie. It's defiantly an amazing movie.

Timberlake proved himself as a good actor.

Plus I loved how 3 of today's rising young female stars all had parts. Olivia Wilde, Amber Heard, and Amanda Seyfried were all great. (Especially Amanda, her part wasn't huge, but she was still like the lead female.)

I've seen dark, depressing movies before. But this one is defiantly up there. People need to be prepared for this type of movie. It's not one to watch if you're trying to have a great time, lol. It's sad and brutal. Most people compare it to the movie 'Bully." Both are based on true stories.

I recommend this one, best movie of 2007 so far.

I liked the movie as well. JT wasn't amazing but he wasn't terrible either.

The mother of the victim in this movie in real life tried to commit suicide several times over the movie studio's decision to turn her turmoil into a moneymaking film.

It wasn't really a moneymaking film at all though. It was sent to film festivals long before hitting the box-office. They really wanted people to know it had substance, which could also be why the promotional campaign wasn't very strong.

I think they kind of refer to the mother's suicidal attitude in the scene where it's a few years later, and the mother has just lost all will to live (and gained a considerable amount of weight.) It showed her as just being hopeless, and pretty much mocking her own suicide attempts. Which I guess is what the real woman's mentality was at that point.

Jt is fantastic here. And yeah, the execution scene is really heartbreaking.

That role wasn't much of a stretch for JT at all, he was just OK as needed, but Alpha Dogs as a movie was pretty good.
