Ok sooooooooo...why didn't they do any promotion for this CD? It's amazing...they're so consistent with their sound, but seriously why the hay was there no promotion AT ALL. It just leaked yesterday and it came out yesterday. Come on now.
I heard this album this week and think it's good-OK for a first spin. I think they're going to be taking an ugly hit in popularity because they switched out their lead singer. (Who's voice is good, but it cannot match the original.) And I'm curious about the no PR as well, did they switch labels?
lol. I know they have a new singer but I have absolutely no objection to his voice whatsoever. It sounds close to the other guy. Just The Girl was just their first classic..you can here it almost everywhere and most people know it. I wish I could tell you why they did no promotion. I'll probably go buy their CD sometime this week. This really sucks thoughhhhhh
I've heard a couple of tracks and they're all right so far.
Still, I love "Say Goodnight." I think it is their best song, especially live. And they had "All I Need is You" too which they performed at concerts, that should've been recorded and released.
Apparently, Eric Dill is still signed with Atlantic and he'll be recording at the end of the summer for an early 2008 release. His solo stuff is pretty good too.
I really loved their old songs "Angel To You (Devil To Me)" and "I'll Take My Chances." 'Say Goodnight' is by far their best song ever though You're right.
The best song on this CD is "Long Way To Go" Way better than Cassie's "Long Way 2 Go" haha. The next best is "When I'm Gone" WAYYY better than 3 Doors Down's song. Haha
What I've heard of this cd is better quality then the old one, but it has less of that bubblegum, catchy but dime-a-dozen sound that was on that one that should have made it a predictable hit. They had their chance for their music to be shoved down trl-viewers'/pop-radio-listeners' throats, and they just didn't catch. Their label's probably just seeing if they can milk a few more dollars out of them until their contract expires.
The new album is all right. They have a few good tracks.
I'll have to go with Eric too though.
Their first album was pretty good, nothing wrong with good ol' pop songs done well. I agree "Say Goodnight" is definitely their best song. I love "Catch Your Wave" too along with "Angel to You..."
I always thought they sounded better live as well.
