Avril Lavigne is set to swap singing for acting. The diminutive star, who recently had roles in "Fast Food Nation" and "The Flock," is on the look out for a lead Hollywood role.
Avril is reportedly in talks with Sony BMG for a major part in a "thriller feature film," playing a "kind of a white trash girl." The 22-year-old, who is already signed as a recording artist to Sony BMG, made her film debut voicing a character in the 2006 animated movie "Over The Hedge."
Despite having major success as a singer, Avril is said to be hoping to do more "outside of music."
Avril - who shot to fame aged 17 with hit singles like "Complicated" and "Sk8er Boi" - has already turned her talents to modeling as well, landing a contract with Ford Models agency.
