"R&B singer Alicia Keys's recent studio collaborations with John Mayer have yielded at least two songs,"Lesson Learned" and "Heavy Times," that should make the cut for Key's forthcoming album "As I Am" due October 23. According to Mayer, the two will get back in the studio again for some further work, adding "this is absolute artistic fusion from top to bottom and I don't think there's anyone else in the world that I could do that with right now."
Keys is also working with John Legend, producer Linda Perry (Pink, Avril) and Timbaland on the new "edgier" project as well as Marsha of folk/soul duo Floetry. Key's says that a first single will be available by late July or early August.
So Alicia's new album will be titled "As I Am" and we'll have to wait until October to get it. I'm looking foward for the Timbaland songs.
Timbaland??? so sick of him. Alicia Keys can write good songs on her own without his help. Timbo is being a produ*****.
Btw, working with Linda Perry is a real one-step forward.
Remember that Linda Perry also works with Christina on her album B2B. THIS ALBUM WILL BE GREAT, I CAN'T WAIT!!!
I agree, Linda Perry is excellent. She manages to capture the mood of a song pretty well. But Timbaland? His forte is beats and hip-hop songs (which are kinda throw-away anyways, lol). Alicia does not neeeed him. That ticks me off.
