Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and producer KERLI has signed with leading electronic dance music label Ultra Music for her future music releases. Look for a new single from her to come in early 2014. Says the self-described ‘bubble goth’ songstress, “I am beyond excited to embark on an electrofantastical odyssey with a label I respect so much. We truly share a vision when it comes to music and art, and have created pieces already that we’re aching to unleash to the world.”
Meanwhile, KERLI will return to “Dancing With The Stars” to perform during tonight’s broadcast (Monday, November 18). She says she will, “…simmer a few of this year’s favorite songs in my own sauce.” The singer/songwriter made her national TV debut on ABC’s massively popular show back in April when she performed her single “Love Me Or Leave Me” from her latest EP UTOPIA. Watch KERLI singing the emotive, heartfelt ballad here:
KERLI’s latest release was the UTOPIA EP in late 2012. Written and performed by KERLI, it drew upon inspiration from both pop and dance genres and was recorded with SeventyEight, U.K. producer Switch (M.I.A., Diplo) and Australian DJ/producer tyDI. The first single from the EP, “The Lucky Ones,” landed at #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart, marking KERLI’s second #1 dance hit following “Army Of Love” in 2011. The music video for “The Lucky Ones” has surpassed one and a half million views on YouTube:
Leading up to “The Lucky Ones,” the fashion forward singer was riding a wave of popularity in the U.S. with her #1 Billboard Dance Club Songs chart smash “Army Of Love” in late 2010 and early 2011. The song proved a fitting bridge for a truly visionary presence on the trendsetting side of pop between KERLI’s 2008 debut album Love Is Dead (which spawned the hit “Walking On Air”). The artist, born Kerli Kõiv, also co-wrote Demi Lovato’s platinum-selling “Skyscraper,” which won an MTV VMA in September of 2012 for ‘Best Video With A Message.’
Kerli girl, I was waiting for you to get back to Love is Dead-ish music, not go deeper on EDM
Kerli isn't making that music anymore. She was in a dark place and over time, artists move on and evolve; as a person and sound-wise.
But...it's good that she's keeping that dark vibe but with the dance sound. We've got an EP coming out soon and that will hold us off until her album gets released.
Moon Babies, I'm beyond excited to finally share this:
We have officially joined forces with Ultra Music♥!!!
Can't wait to share all the new sound scapes we've been creating to take you on a freakin' next level electrofantastical odyssey!!!
Buckle your seat belts, hold on to your Moon Marks, and stay tuned for the new new...
Coming early 2014
