The city of San Francisco came together today (November 15) to make the superhero dreams of a 5-year-old boy come true.
'Batkid' Miles Scott - who is recovering from leukaemia - had always wanted to be Batman for the day, so with the help of Make-a-Wish Foundation, residents set up a series of mock crimes for him to thwart.
The charity received pledges from more than 10,000 people to lend a hand, while US President Barack Obama also praised Miles in a video from the White House .
Miles believed he was on his way to get a Batman costume, when a broadcast from San Francisco Police Chief Greg Suhr appealed for help from 'Batkid'.
The mini superhero went on to save a woman tied to cable car tracks and foil a bank robbery, after being taken to and from events in two 'Batmobiles' escorted by police.
Miles, who has been in treatment for several years, is now said to be in remission. (source)
