During a private 45-minute presentation showcasing the console’s media and entertainment capabilities, about 10 of 45 voice commands issued had to be repeated by a Microsoft spokesman — some as many as four times. Kinect didn’t immediately detect such orders as “Xbox, watch ESPN” and “Xbox, Bing movies with Sandra Bullock” during the demo.
PS4 Fails to Respond During a Live Broadcast on Japanese TV, Awkwardness and Hilarity Ensue
During a live broadcast dedicated to the Tokyo Game Show on a Japanese TV channel, Sony Computer Entertainment booth staffers found themselves in an awkward situation as the host tried The Playroom on the PS4 under the watchful eye of the camera.
The host tried to operate the touch pad on the DualShock 4, and the console simply failed to respond repeatedly, prompting the intervention of a staffer that had to struggle for quite a while to help. Then the host moved on to demonstrate the PlayStation App on a tablet, and the PS4 failed to respond just again, causing hilarity and awkwardness between the anchors. Everything happened live, so there was no way to put a patch on it.
Also everyone else who attended to same event and who received their consoles early have said that the Kinect and the UI features are working wonderfully. Kings of UI!
