Eminem and Kanye West seem to be engaged in a cold war right now. Both of them have declared themselves gods (Kanye West: "I am a God,"
Yeezus) (Eminem: "Rap God") and both have released VERY similar songs whether by title, feature, or production. Yet, notably, neither artist has worked with one another on any song other than "Forever" by Drake, and Kanye didn't give a **** about that verse.
Both artists appeared on T.I.'s
No Mercy (Eminem: "That's All She Wrote") (Kanye: "Welcome to the World")
Both artists worked very closely with Rick Rubin on their recent projects (
Yeezus and
MMLP2)
Both artists worked with Rihanna on recent Top 20 hits (Eminem: "The Monster") (Kanye: "All of the Lights") and featured on her most recent album (Eminem: "Numb") (Kanye: "Diamonds Remix")
Speaking of "The Monster," Kanye West had the song that gave birth to Nicki Minaj's greatest verse in the form of "Monster" in 2010.
(Even the covers look similar in color and simplicity...)
Oh, let us not forget the slight diss to Kanye on Eminem's "No Love" with Lil Wayne (Eminem called out Kanye on the mic snatching) and listing him in "Love Game" with Kendrick.
While their subject matter is often very different, both artists seem to be among the most acclaimed recently and show signs of slight cold war competition. Do you think Eminem is purposefully releasing songs like "Rap God" and "The Monster" to challenge the throne that Kanye set for himself?
Here's more conspiracy:

Do you think there is a potential beef brewing between the two artists? Who is deserving of the title "God?" Discuss
