For example, you would assume deep red states like Alabama and Mississippi would generally loathe the image of gay couples/gay marriage, but turns out, that's an unfair stereotype. Daily Show did an experiment sending gay people to restaurants in those states (or something like that) and they actually got good responses despite PDA.

There is some, but definitely not as much as we would think. After all, our entertainment industry and the number of different races who are successful in our country is probably greater than any other country in the World.
