Eminem Set To Score FASTEST Selling LP OF 2013
7 November 2013
Slim Shady has already managed to shift 73,000 copies in just 24 hours...
Eminem is on course to score the fastest selling album of 2013, despite only releasing The Marshall Mathers LP 2 on Tuesday (November 5).
According to the Official Charts Company, Slim Shady has already sold over 73,000 copies and is set to replace Daft Punk's Random Access Memories as this year's top seller, after it shifted a cool 165,000 copies back in May.
However, both artists still have a long way to go when it comes to securing the overall biggest selling LP of 2013, with compilation Now That's What I Call Music 85 currently holding the title, after selling 262,000 copies in July.
Earlier this week, Em - who is currently at No.1 in the UK singles chart with Rihanna collaboration The Monster - was forced to defend certain lyrics on The MMLP2.
When asked by Rolling Stone about his use of the word "f*ggot" on the record, the Rap God stated that he has "no issues with gay, straight, transgender, at all."
He added: "I'm glad we live in a time where it's really starting to feel like people can live their lives and express themselves. And I don't know how else to say this, I still look at myself the same way that I did when I was battling and broke.
"Well, look, I've been doing this s**t for, what, 14 years now? And I think people know my personal stance on things and the personas that I create in my music. And if someone doesn't understand that by now, I don't think there's anything I can do to change their mind about it."
