There's 4, but only 2 actually matter. There are the American Country Music Awards (ACMs), the Country Music Association Awards (CMAs) (which are tonight), the Country Music Television Awards (CMT), and the American Country Awards (ACAs). However of these, only the ACMs and CMAs are a big deal. Winning a CMT is like winning at the VMAs, it feels good but ultimately doesn't mean much. The ACAs were started three years ago so Fox could have their own country show to compete with the other major networks, promote artists affiliated with Fox, and make those artists seem more important by giving them random awards.
