Many of you have may have by now read the news regarding Evanescence. For those of you that have not, I'd like to inform you that John LeCompt and Rocky Gray are no longer with the band.
Management has confirmed that the band will remain intact with replacements, and the European tour will not be affected. Additionally, the shoot for video #4 - "Good Enough" is on schedule for 11 - 14 June".
(Amy Lee)
Video that is basically just her on the piano --- no need for band members. **** this song is going to flop so horridly and I can't believe they would release it. I know there was a thread about this but there was only speculation so this is the real deal. WTF. What a dumb way to end off a good album.
This will flop sadly. They are having really bad success with their new album. They need a single like My Immortal. That song was a masterpiece. I love Evanescence <3333
Poor choice.. one of my least favorites from the album. Unless they change it up with a new version for radio like they did with MI, this one has no chance. ~_~
As far as commercial success goes... "Snow White Queen" would probably be the biggest hit. Or they could pull a 'My Immortal" with "Like You."
This song is a ballad, yes, but it's also very uplifting. Evanescence have never released an uplifting song before, so who knows? Feel good end of the summer song?
Good Enough is a great song but not really hit material. A few spins and it will get old fast...
The Only One - Potential hit, the hook is epic.
Lacrymosa - See "The Only One"
All That I'm Living For - Hawt
Lithium - oh wait... she released that one.... eh wtf happened?!?
Worst thing Evanescence will release :-/ This will flop even worse than the previous singles...The Open Door is a good album..they just released the wrong singles
Yeah. "Sweet Sacrifice" is done. Didn't even crack the top 50 on the Alternative Mediabase, whereas "Lithium" went to #38-ish, then was completely removed from the chart for a still-unknown reason. SS is still going on Active Rock but will barely crack the top 20 at the rate it's going.
I wish they would send "Good Enough" to Pop/CHR and "All That I'm Living For" to Active Rock & Alternative. ATILF can at least do well on rock formats with the Family Values Tour approaching. GE has no chance, IMO. The album itself is not a flop, it's just riding off the success of CMWYS. 1.7 million is good enough [ha] for them. Who actually thought they would even hit 3 million with the way sales are down these days?
I think CMWYS was the only good single choice so far.
I would have gone for:
Call Me when You're Sober
Lacrymosa
Cloud Nine or Weight of the World
Like You
That said, Good Enough isn't a bad last single because it winds down well, but only after a run of successful singles which would increase the persuasion factor. I thought the same about Lithium, I think it would have done better as a last single after a hypothetical good run.
