It seems that the image change and the promotion just didnt work for Melanie C.
Her Debut Album This Time entered the UK chart at number 57! and the single I Want Candy debuted at 24 dropping on it's second week to 53.

I can't believe this happened, she's looking better than ever and her singles and videos just weren't bad at all, it seems like she will have to sell more in other countries to give Red Girl Records (her own record company) another succesful album.

I really hated I Want Candy. The song was terrible to start with and she didn't really do anything to fix it. I think she really needs to give in to a SG reunion.

Her solo career is officially done. Now go back to Spice Girls!

Her new material is very weak. I can see why no one would buy it.

If you are going to cover a dumb song like "I Want Candy", you deserve to flop. That's about the lamest thing she could do. She should have left the song to Kidz Bop and actually put out some original material. No sane person could have possibly expected radio to play that song.

agree..."i want candy" was acceptable in the 80´s, it is a stupid song!

People want the SG reunion, that's why, if the album flops, she won't tour, she won't have anymore single, she'll have to do the reunion.

I have no idea why she's gone to covering a song when she was doing fine without it. This type of move signals desperation.

I least she can sing. It is demonstrated on the track "The Moment You Believe". She did "I Want Candy" for the soundtrack of a movie featuring Carmen Electra.

"I want candy" is kinda horrible but the rest of the album is really good, at least better than what i was expecting...I'm from Portugal and she has very success here.

"The Moment You Believe" is being played here in a lot of radios...therefore i thought she has realeased but i guess she didn't...anyway i love the song
