Alex Pettyfer is to star as a gay action hero in the next movie from The Butler director Lee Daniels.
The film is yet to be titled, but Daniels described it as "Mr. and Mrs. Smith but [with] the two good-looking guys as the action heroes".
The filmmaker told Out magazine of Pettyfer: "He's so hot, isn't he? So hot. And so aware of his hotness in a way that's so… I love him to death."
Daniels added that he is looking for an African-American actor to star opposite Pettyfer in the "interracial love affair action movie".
He also said: "We don't find out they're gay until the end of the movie."
Pettyfer is also reportedly up for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII. He last appeared as a rookie stripper in Steven Soderbergh's Magic Mike, and can be seen in Daniels's The Butler.
Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama recently revealed that he "teared up" while watching The Butler.
