I got the honor last night to watch a private screening of 300 at a frat house. (projector, sound system, and all.) It was my first time seeing it, and I really liked it. I would love to see this again, possibly through IMAX before it goes....
You definitely get what you paid for, if you are looking for a movie with some great action sequences, this is it. I cannot think of many more movies with this much bang for the buck (when you consider the length of the movie). Its not just blatant action though, there is a decent plot in the backround too.
I mean-there is no stunning oscar performance but like I said, the box office numbers speak for themselves, very entertaining.
The movie goes a step further if you know anything about Thermopylae because the way the Persians are portrayed is not how they actually were-but how the Greeks described them and I really liked that-then again casual movie goers who are slamming the movie may not have understood this and saw how much it added to the film, making it a lot more than a senseless bloodfest.
