Avatars will now be hosted off-site, which means if you want to upload a new avatar, you will need to host it on Photobucket, ImageShack, some other site like that, or your own web space, and then copy/paste the URL.

This is good news for 2 reasons:
1. With no avatars hosted here on popfusion.net, it'll use less bandwidth.
2. There is no limit on the file size. No more 65 KB limit.

The existing limit of 125 x 125 will remain in place. No giant avatars. Finally, make sure you upload a new avatar at some point this week, because I'll probably be deleting the avatars hosted here on popfusion.net!

No, as long as the avatar is not uploaded on this site, you are fine. I just checked your avatar and it is hosted elsewhere, so do not worry about it.

Anyway I don't feel like posting a new thread about this so I'll post it here. I added some new options to the Edit My Profile section that I thought people might appreciate... here's a quick rundown of the new stuff.

Country and/or U.S. State: So we know where the hell you're actually from.
About Me: Formerly known as Biography. Now it's multi-line so you can put in a lot more info.
Favorite Artists, TV Shows, and Movies: Also huge boxes now, so, go crazy with it.
Favorite Quotes: New option. Pretty self-explanatory. List your favorite quotes and such.

Most image hosting sites will take down your image if it uses too much bandwidth, so it's not a good idea for anyone to have a really giant avatar file. Remember, your avatar is gonna be loaded repeatedly by hundreds of members and guests every day. As long as people keep it reasonable, it should be fine.

EDIT: Nevermind. I found out that you need to put www on your URL as well.

I tried a couple of times and i can't do it! not even with the www

Make sure the http:// is in there, just follow the example given. I didn't know it would go back and require the correct format from people who already had a URL there before, but oh well.

I know maybe you'll think im stupid for this but trust me, i'm not! It's a very simple task but something's wrong with my account, first of all i don't have an example and i can't modify anything else, not just the avatar. I tried different ways already, i'll just try it later to see if it works.

And i know im doing it right since it's showing me a preview from the avatar but it's just not saving the changes.
