Sharron Levy was born in Israel. When she was nine, she moved to the UK with her mother and her brother where she lived in different cities over the years, the last one being London. Back in the UK she played guitar and was the lead singer in different bands, such as "One Drop", "Super Massive Object" and "Captive Audio". In 2008 she went solo. In August 2010, she moved from London to Salzburg, Austria, where she now still lives.
She took part in the first season of the German version of the show "The Voice", "The Voice Of Germany" in 2011/2012, where Nena (famous for the song "99 Red Balloons" in the 80's) took her into her team. Sharron made it to the semi finals of the show and was basically the "Rock Chick" of the whole competition.
One and a half years later, Sharron Levy now released her album "Rough_Ready". Sharron wrote every single song of the album herself. Produced by Nena's producer Derek Van Krogh and with the help of some professional musicians (Nena's band members), John Andrews on Guitars, Derek von Krogh on Bass, Philipp Palm on Drums, Bernhard Hahn on Percussion and
Paul Di Leo, Bass on the song ‘Drowning’, Sharron recorded an honest and true rock album.
It is pretty rock'n'roll, 12 songs and only three ballads.
Give the girl a listen, okay guys? Tell me how you like it.
On a personal note: I've known Sharron since September 2008 (I discovered an awesome piano ballad cover of P!nk's "So What" of her on Youtube) and I followed her career ever since. I know her personally and am her official support (something like "head of the fan club/personal assistant" kind of thing). I belong to her "most trusted people" team and it's really a great experience to join her in the adventures of being a full time musician and to be friends with a "rockstar".
The album "Rough_Ready" is available on Itunes and Amazon as MP3 download and as a physical CD.
