Firefox...I'm using it now, which is not by choice because I have to use it. If I didn't have Firefox I wouldn't have internet..., but I think Firefox is alot better than IE.
Have any of you actually tried the new version of internet explorer(Version 7). I have used it a few times recently when I have been on a PC and it has a pretty decent user interface. Most of the reviews I have read have been pretty favorable as well. I can understand all the negative remarks about IE6, but IE7 really deserves a look.
One think really sucks about firefox, it tends to use a lot more memory than IE. If you are on a PC hit ctrl-alt-delete and check out the memory usage for firefox. Then close firefox and open IE and check out the memory usage. It will be about 1/4th of what IE7 uses. If you are on a computer with 512MB of RAM or less that is a big concern and something to think about.
I've been thinking about downloading Firefox, but haven't been so motivated yet. It's on most of the school computers so I am familiar with it. ReleaseTheDub makes a couple of great points about IE. The user interface is really good. Also IE is doing better as far as the safety issue. Keep in mind that the more people move to Firefox, the worse it's security situation will become.
I just realized that if you use both Firefox and IE, your IE gets destroyed (GIF animations won't play, I can't log on to Gmail). I used System Restore to make everything better, though.
