Kelly Clarkson has been flirting with country music since her time on American Idol. But within the last few years, her love for country has exploded: She recorded a hit duet with Jason Aldean in 2010, got engaged to Reba McEntire's stepson last year and dropped a honky-tonk take on a wedding tune, "Tie It Up," this summer.
Now it looks like Clarkson's sideline hobby will turn into a full-time occupation after the original Idol finishes her current tour and releases her upcoming Christmas album, Wrapped In Red.
"We've made almost a whole record," Clarkson told Albany, NY's GNA radio. "We haven't finished because I'm on tour, but we've made a whole record I'll end up releasing."
But don't fret, fans of Kelly the Pop Diva: She isn’t make this a permanent career change.
"With Jewel and Sheryl Crow, they kinda quit in pop and came over to country," Clarkson said. "I love both. I don’t necessarily know if I have one foot in it and one foot in the other."
That's a relief. Because the Kidz Bop Kids desperately need Clarkson's pop music.
Actually this will probably come after her pop album, she said we should get a lead single for the pop album in Q1 but we'll see whether that actually happens....
I think 2 albums is a good idea, much better she keeps it separate then has an album of mixed stuff.
