Priyanka Chopra named NFL 2013-14 Headliner, Replaces Cee Lo

The Indian actress-turned-singer will sing the theme to the NFL's "Thursday Night Football'' this season. She replaces Cee Lo Green.
Chopra's song, "In My City,'' was used for last year's pregames. It will be used again for the opening music when the New York Jets visit the New England Patriots on Thursday. The song features will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas.
Carrie Underwood took over the theme song for "Sunday Night Football'' this year after Faith Hill sang it for six seasons.
I'm don't get why they're trying to launch her as a pop star using the NFL. I really think her long term goal is to score a Hollywood movie role and she's using Jimmy Iovine and Desi Hits as her stepping stones.
I can't imagine any of these football fans actually buying her music except maybe the woman and the guy stanning hard for her:
And yeah, NFL fans will not be buying her music but it might just be a channel for US exposure, to get her face and name out their to the US male public so that they will know her already when she appears on magazines, shows, movies, etc.

"In My City" was only released to be a NFL theme song. Well, that's what management is probably telling her to say now...
Yeah, I guess that's logic behind it, but I don't see it doing much for her music-wise. I can imagine these guys going to watch a movie with her in it.
