Apple has launched its Reuse and Recycling scheme in the UK.
Details of the initiative were announced on Tuesday (September 10), hours ahead of the tech firm's special event where it is expected to launch the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.
Apple launched an iPhone and iPod recycling programme in the US last month, allowing consumers to exchange their old items for store credit.
The UK initiative lets users recycle iPhones, iPods or Mac computers. PCs are also included in the scheme.
Valuation is provided by Dataserv, and consumers with qualifying products will have the "fair market value" of their old devices transferred directly into their bank accounts, Apple said on its website.
Qualifying Macs and Apple display units purchased in retail stores or via an Apple Premium Reseller also come with free recycling of old units within 30 days of sale.
