I read somewhere that he doesn't do sequels and knowing that it is a franchise he didn't want to do it.
Smart move in this case though... Apparently no one was actually allowed to read the script and if you're going by the source material there isn't much there
that's probably the only way I would've paid to see that movie. He plays that role so well.
