He IS a performer and a great one at that. The next only choices in thi s generation would be P!nk and Gaga but after two females were on back to back, they needed a change I guess.

After Madonna and Beyoncé, there's downgrade, and then there's Bruno Mars. Imma need more substance from him, not some MJ rehash. That's how I see it.

I don't get it either, to me he's so forgettable.

He's a great performer and he will appeal to both the typical male demographic and the female demographic. Madonna, for example, likely wasn't the #1 best choice for straight men - yes, I know I'm stereotyping a little, but it holds some ground.
