Monica - The Makings of Me ; "A Dozen Roses" deserves much more success honestly, it's a hott song. "Slideline Ho" is also a good song, it deserves more than just the R&B charts.

Frankie J - Priceless ; "Daddy's Little Girl" gets a lot of airplay here in South Florida but it's not helping! This album is actually really good, its something different from all his past albums.

Kelis - Kelis Was Here ; Actually enough said, she just likes to flop cause this girl does NOT promote anything

well ... I can agree w/ you on Monica ... The Makings of Me was a really good album ... surprisingly after I re-listened to Kelis Was Here I thought it was ok eventhough I had already placed it in my worst albums of 2006.

I know, Kelis was here was my 2nd favorite album of 2006. And Monica's was amazing!! I don't know what happened

Monica was dropped by her label.

And maybe also because of her single choices,,she
just don't chose her best singles on the album!

Kelis Was Here is great album. I'm still shocked how Blindfold Me flopped.

I think these artists sell badly in general. frankie J's last album sold a lot more than usual becuase he had a lot of hit singles in there.

As for Monica, she was really big in the 90's with The Boy is Mine and Angel of mine and stuff like that. Her album after that was "After the storm" which debuted at number 1 but didn't really sell that much. When she released "The Makings of Me", Monica thought she could pull off the whole ghetto girl look and Miss A Town or whatever you wanna call it, but nobody was fooled by it at all. Everyone was dissappointed when she released "everytime tha beat drop" because it really showed that Monica was trying to be ghetto and create a street cred of her own. The cover of the album was quite disgusting, showing that Monica was thinking that sex sells. But really it backfired because nobody liked this new Monica. She released A dozen roses, but the album was already a flop and it was too late to be saved.

I'm not hating on any of these artists or anything. I have all of these albums and I really like them all. But everything i'm stating is just the truth.

Monica's album sucked as hell and Kelis' record was ****ing amazing. I haven't heard Frankie J's one, though.

Anywyas, Monica's CD was boring, Kelis' was good, so I don't know why they didnt have commercial sucess.

Frankie J, like Omarion is probably getting overshadowed by Justin Timberlake.

I didn't care for Monica's 2 singles at all, and I was unimpressed that she went from "Angel of Mine" to what she became.

Kelis needs to bring back the fro, her original image. I also think she was gone for too long from her last album.

Normally, Frankie J doesn't sell that much and his singles don't really do that well, even though they're good songs. You'd think that doing something different, like he did with "That Girl" would help but no. As far as "Daddy's Little Girl", I haven't heard it anywhere, not the TV or the radio, so that might hurt him.

Monica's album was horrible sans one or two songs. Kelis, however, had an amazing album. Problem with her is that she released the actual album too late. She should have released it around the time Bossy was peaking.

I dont really like Monica's and Kelis'.
But Frankie J's album is really good, too bad it flopped.

Kelis Was Here was a bit of a disappointment for me, it has a few gems (Lil'Star) and ok songs but a lot of generic stuff... and it seems to me that Kelis has lost some of her vocal talent. If you compare any song from her great debut album (her best one still IMO) with songs like "Bossy" and "Blindfold Me" you'll get the idea. I hope she delivers more with the next album, cus she's still much better than a lot of the other RnB female "singers" around today.
