I don't want to put in this list the under 40 women, there are other pop artists that had their time in the 90s-80s and even 00s, so from the list who is the queen diva of latin pop?
Marta Sanchez - This woman had LOTS of hits in the 90s even 80s, from when the OLE OLE era (her group before going solo) with hits like SOLDADOS DE AMOR (classic 80s song) to Desesperada, De mujer a mujer, Arena y sol, Dime la verdad, Moja mi corazon (with SLASH from Guns N roses, one of her best songs), Desconocida, Vivo por ella (Ft Andrea Bocelli) etc... I also remember people would talk **** about her saying she is trying to copy Madonna, she is the perfect pop icon.
Gloria Estefan - Probably the most known artist from the list(because she started singing in english), 5 time gammy winner and with over 70 million albums sold worldwide, but can she be called queen of latin pop....when she has released more english albums than spanish albums? + most of her songs are tropicals, you decide!
Ana torroja - One and only! this woman used to be the lead singer of Mecano (famous latin pop group) they recorded more than 7 albums together and had HUGE HITS all over latin america, she splitted from the group and had also massive hits but can't forget her classic ones with Mecano
the 3 of them are great. But let's see:
-- Gloria Stefan is very well known, but I don't like her.
-- Ana Torroja is great too, but she was more succesful when she was in Mecano.
So my vote is for Marta Sanchez
