Video Games: €499 PS4 bundle out-values Xbone

Though the bundle hasn't been officially announced, that ever-trusty bastion of leaks Amazon France has revealed it'll include a copy of Killzone: Shadow Fall, the PlayStation 4 Camera and two DualShock 4 controllers. All this in addition to a Jet Black 500GB PlayStation 4 console.

At the moment the bundle is listed for retail at €499; the exact same amount as Microsoft's European Xbox One price.

In contrast, anyone who pre-orders Microsoft's console will be getting an Xbox One, Kinect and a copy of FIFA 14 for the same price.

Back in June we heard that Sony had decided against bundling the PlayStation 4 Camera in with the console to make sure it beat Microsoft when it came down to price. Upon reflection, the company seems to have decided it can afford to include it in a bundle after all.

IGN has been told that there's no official news on UK or European bundles at this time. As soon as we know more, we'll let you know.

So you not only get the PlayStation 4 Camera (recently announced to have voice controls), which would bring the bundle to the same value as the Xbone, but you also get an extra controller AND a free, top tier game, giving you $120 in extra value.

For now, only Europe, but hopefully they'll release it in the US too

I mean it's the perfect strategy. Put two consoles at $500 on the same shelf and which one are parents more likely to choose? The one that only comes with a camera, or the one that comes with a camera, an extra controller, and a free game?

I prematurely pre-ordered a PS4 and canceled shortly afterwards in anticipation of something like this coming out instead.

This kind of bundle is something I would definitely be interested in giving my coins to Sony for. It's everything I need.

Hopefully they have similar bundles with different games tho!

And you are quite right! Parents want more for less, and it's the perfect gift.
