Charli XCX has confirmed that she has written a song for Britney Spears' forthcoming album.
The grungy pop star, who wrote Icona Pop's smash hit 'I Love It' and who released her own debut album earlier this year - 'True Romance' - has sent a song to be considered for Britney's new album, which will be the eighth in her career.
The singer said that she was honored to be asked to contribute to the LP but 'freaked out' moments before the writing session.
Talking to Digital Spy at Reading Festival, the up-and-coming star said: "I've been doing some writing for the Britney record. I was freaking out. I didn't even want to go to the session I was so excited. I was so worried I would f**k it up.
"I was doing some stuff for that yesterday actually. Who knows how it will go. We've written one song and it's a great track and if she likes it then amazing. It was just an honor to be asked."
Hayley Williams and the rest of Paramore recently asked Charli to ditch her U.S dates and go touring with the band in her native UK, which is another sign Charli's a star on the rise.
Britney Spears meanwhile recently announced that her new music is coming "MUCH sooner than you think."
The US sensation teased fans with the prospect of a big announcement by unveiling a mysterious countdown on her official website. "ALL EYES ON ME" are the only words on the countdown page and at the time of writing the ticker has around 21 days remaining.. source
