Oh, Miley. That was priceless. Miley was the one star in the room who truly understood what the MTV Video Music Awards are all about — waggling your tongue, grabbing your crotch, rocking a foam finger, going to third with the Care Bears, twerking and shrieking and acting out America's goriest pop-psycho nightmares. She showed up Robin Thicke as one uptight douche, though he helped by dressing as the world's edgiest Foot Locker manager. Miley stole the night, which is why the nation is still in recovery today. Thanks, Miley — as Justin used to sing, back in the 'NSync days, God must have spent a little more time on you.
The tea has been spilled. The VMAs have always been about crazy controversial moments, just random ass ****. That's what the good old MTV (and VMAs) are all about and Miley delivered. Yes, pitchy. Yes, looking a mess... but she delivered.
She really did, atrl can say its for the wrong reasons, but Miley doesn't care She had fun performing. And most of their faves are just as controversial

That's true.
Gaga just wanted to do a performance art piece about being an entertainer.
Katy wanted to prove she's "winning"
JT's performance was about putting himself in an iconic/legendary light
All i see is that she "stole the show", I don't see praise about her vocals , or her choreography or how she moved the crowd so basically what their saying is; Congrats Miley your the biggest attention ***** there"

Its important that she had fun with it. She wasnt up there taking her perfomance too seriously thinking of it being super artistic or anything.

Yes it was really trashy, bad and everything you don't wish from a pop star BUT
this wasn't the Grammy's and it's MTV after all so I guess that's what makes it acceptable.
If this were done on an award show like the Grammy's then we would've had a problem though.
