Happy New Years Eve people!
Top 6 Underrated and overlooked artists of 2006
Yes, the following artists each released or promoted a CD this year:
6.) Sugarcult
5.) Crossfade
**And these guys are the same ones who created the massive "Cold."
4.) Kaci Brown
**Unbelievable should’ve had a Grammy
3.) Hoobastank
**I'm suprised by their drop, after "The Reason" I was expecting a huge turnout for their following LP, which was good.
2.) Xzibit
**X's little success this year sucks, he should be doing better than Akon. He'll always have Pimp My Ride.
1.) Alien Ant Farm
**
Top 6 Collaberations of 2006:
***Wipes out the entire list, because Nick was paying attention and won the 1st of 2 (Maybe 3 pending upon on these next couple of days) HIDDEN games in my year-end countdown.***
Top 6 OTHER**SONGS of 2006:
**Meaning they're not found in any other song list here.
6.) OAR - Love and Memories
5.) Young Jeezy - My Hood
**Yeah, Yeah, I know it came out in 05', but I came late to this.
4.) Sean Paul - Temperature
3.) Taking Back Sunday - MakeDamnSure
2.) The Fray - How to Save a Life
1.) All American Rejects - Night Drive
**DAMMIT MAKE THIS A SINGLE TYSON!!!!
Top 6 Videos that never should’ve been on TRL and/or the VSpot countdowns in 2006
I don't even want to rank em'
- Play with Fire – Hilary Duff
***Wow, what a disaster! This girl used to have actual hits and now it’s come to this piece of flaming crap? With music videos like this one, she deserves a dying career. Just shove a fire extinguisher up this video’s butt, it’s bad.
- Aly and AJ – Chemicals React
***LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a vile song and video of two poseur girls guitar-synching! Remember kids, just say no! ~ Speaking of which, I’m still laughing about how pissed and puffy how some people in here got after launching that small campaign. X D!!!!! I even brought out a couple closet fans of the girls. (HAHA!)

I don’t think they can do much worse…well... besides the christmas version of this song they produced for the latest Santa Claus Movie.
- James Blunt “You’re Beautiful”
***This man is now OK as an artist, but he did not have a good first impression for me which happened to be this video. What was the concept of this video? Some guy (who sounds like he needs some serious Cough and Throat medicine) getting down to just his jeans and jumping into the freezing water? I speak for millions when I say “WTF?!”
- Mariah Carey “Say Somethin”
***Mariah is an Amazing vocal artist who had a nice pop/RnB album and has been in the music industry for years now… Why did she produce this classless waste? It’s just her being a rich bitch in some city shopping and bouncing around with an occasional Snoop or Pharell shot. And Pharell needs to go away for a little bit, the man cannot create anything commercially successful with just himself anyways. Finally to the director of this garbage, its called lighting, get some. TERRIBLE!
- Madonna “Sorry”
***This music video had an undeserving run at #1 on TRL. The video was barely-OK, while the song grew uglier every time I heard it. Now come this month, I can no longer stand this. Madonna’s CD was hideously overrated, and repulsive set aside a couple tracks.
May that album under-perform in peace and be forgotten here in the US.
- Prince "Te Amo Corazon"
***Screw why this is here--- Why the **** is he headlining the next superbowl? Wow I cannot believe the halftime shows have stooped to this level. This is disgusting! This 40-some year old is a musical legend, but get someone who won’t scream in terror at the sight of a football. (Or can actually name 3 NFL teams…) Oh and he couldn’t have made himself look like a bigger deushe-ass during the American Idol finale this year.
Top 6 “EWWW-WAH You Liked THAT????!!! WHAT THE ABSTINANCE?!!! HOW COULD YOU???!!!!” Songs of '06
**Tosses himself into an interrogation room**
6.) Jesse McCartney “Right Where You Want me”
**I liked the sound as he came across as a mixture between Justin Timberlake and Josh Kelly through this single.
5.) Webstar “Chicken Noodle Soup”
**Oh come on, most of you secretly liked it as well.
4.) Cherish “Do It To it”
**I’ll claim Destiny’s Child withdrawal for this one
3.) Jonas Bros “Year 3000”
**Mandy was a horrible start for these kids which could’ve made Dakota Fanning act her own bratty + whiney age for once. With this, they redeemed themselves.
2.) Hinder “Lips of an Angel”
**I don’t fully understand why people are against this band besides the somewhat-horrid “get stoned.” This rightfully took #1 spots on several charts. The song is amazing.
1.) Fergie “London Bridge”
**”I’ll understand if you don’t want to be friends or acquaintances anymore…
Top 6 Dissapointments in Music of '06
6.) Pearl Jam: Pearl Jam.
**Cut aside one track from that CD, I hated it. : ( Not even the avocado picture could save this album. I consider these guys done if they do something like this again with their next effort.
5.) LL Cool J: Todd Smith
**This was a few-story drop from The Definition. Todd Smith was just 3 tracks of just LL Cool J and a bunch of collabs with songs that wouldn’t go very far or even down the first block.
4.) FeFe Dobson being unable to release her CD
**Her Freshman debut was great! But with poor management and multiple push back dates, the album was jeopardized too much.
3.) the lack of Rock songs hitting #1 on the Billboard 100.
**:-/
2.) Lukas Rossi becoming the new front man lead singer of Supernova
**The only one from the Rock Star show who I didn’t want to win.
1.) The super-hyped High School Musical soundtrack. (Which horribly went to multi-platinum)
***Everybody, the sake of sanity: say no and bash the **** out of this whenever you get the chance. This is not high-school oriented, it’s middle school. I cannot believe the ugly-scaled fandom behind this production, and its spawning a sequel! Someone should be persecuted for this, as the CD and the Movie has ****ed up the lives of its fans already. I hate most musicals and stuff found in broadway, but High School Musical could be found right away in Satan’s “sticky” ****o collection.
Top 6 Music Videos of '06
My list seems to be in agreement with most of the other year-end top music video countdowns I've seen in this board.
6.) Pink “Stupid Girls”
**Wow there have been a lot of stupid and ill-perceived girls in the media (My top targets: Britney Spears, Nicole Richie, and now Rosie O Donnell.) and yet there are some stupid kids within our generation following their examples? (Some of which can be found on this site both Male & Female, and I say WTF to that.) I applaud Pink heavily for doing this video, and I’m glad she brought this issue to light, even if it was a factor towards the CD’s commercial under-achievement.
5.) 30 Seconds to Mars “From Yesterday”
**They took me to China, and for 10+ minutes they had my full attention. I even wanted some Chinese food after seeing the video. Another amazing video and song. I really hope they have another CD to release in 07.
4.) My Chemical Romance “Welcome to the Black Parade”
**Dark and artistic, yet cool and almost a near anthem for me. This video is coming from one of the best Rock albums to have been released this year.
3.) Korn “Coming Undone”
**Unlike some of their crappy former songs, this music video was a visual masterpiece. Chicken Little probably ******* out a couple eggs when he saw this one.
2.) Evanescence “Call Me When you’re Sober”
**Amy Lee and her boys were extremely close to being #1. I found Evanescence's interpretation of the Little Red Riding hood to be extremely entertaining as the song rocks.
1.) The All American Rejects “Move Along”
**This song is my year’s anthem, and I find this video extremely amazing overall. I’m very proud that this video spent 5 days in a row @ #1 on TRL. I'm not going to tread on about this one, watch and see for yourself.
And thus ends the second day.
**Lights a 2nd candle**

Have a good one, see you in '07!
