I like lady gaga. She seems sweet and never came off as arrogant. However it is clear that when her team released Applause yesterday, they were 100% that she would be #1 on iTunes and pass Katy. They would have never released it like that of they thought she d be upstaged. Clearly they got a lil cocky and are paying for it now.
On the other side, her monsters have been overzealous with Gaga s success and status. They just assumed that Gaga s success was gonna be linear and just couldn't struggle. The success of The Fame era was real and huge. BTW survived based on the good will from her debut era, but it was already clear that the GP was turning away from Gaga.
The never never respected how exceptional it is for Rihanna to be so consistant with her hits.
They never took Katy seriously and acted as if 5 #1 singles off a #1 album was not enough to make Katy a serious contender as a pop royalty.
Look at every poll last week, they claimed Katy was gonna be overshadowed and that Rihanna couldn't even compete if she tried.
Now that Applause is clearly getting an underwhelming response on iTunes and already dropping of the chart with Roar just crushing it: DO YOU THINK GAGA AND HER MONSTERS WILL LEARN TO RESPECT THE SUCCESS OF OTHER ARTISTS?
