Why did "Roar" debut on Pop Songs at #34 today? I'm sure radio didn't play the song "just because." Capitol probably told them to go ahead and roll it out two days early.
Well this isn't good for either artist. They obviously can't play both songs at the same time, these songs will kill each other and won't live out to its full potential (on radio)

Why wouldn't they play it just because? It's a Katy Perry lead single. Part Of Me got almost 10M AI the first day with no deal and it was more like a 6th single or whatever.
