Alright, lets do this..."White And Nerdy": Yay or Nay?
I'm getting tired of this. I keep seeing people just randomly bashing this song without really giving an explanation other than to just say, "it sucks". So i'm going to give you haters a chance to explain why you think this song is terrible. But, because it's only fair, i'll also give those who appreciate "White And Nerdy" a chance to explain why they like the song.
Oh, and by the way, if all you have to add to this very important conversation is a "Yay" or "Nay" or "it sucks" or "it rules" or anything like that, just go away and don't waste all of our time. It will not be needed here. In other words, give reasons or don't post at all.
Alright, so, lets just get right to it.
Weird Al Yankovic's "White And Nerdy": Awesome or spawn of satan?

I'm going to say Nay.
For a few reasons:
1. The idea of mocking other artists (even if they are artists who lack credibility themselves, like Chamillionaire), comes across as something very novel. It's drunk funny. It's not worth me listening to it on my iPod during the week.
2. Making fun of rap music.. since when was that original? And the video isn't even funny.
3. Overall; I guess what I find funny - not everyone else finds funny. And how some people might find this amusing, I fail to see your logic.
But hey, that's just me.

YAY! YAY! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
But I don't like the weasel stomping day track, and Weird Al deserves a severe anal punishment from ASPCA for that. -- Otherwise said, I liked the CD in general.
I'd really like to see some more music videos come out of this one.
My top 3 favorite tracks are:
1. Canadian Idiot
2. White n Nerdy
3. Trapped in the drive-thru

You didn't read the first post, I know.
Anyways, yay for me.
1. It's different from all those rap songs about riches, popularity, or being a pimp.
2. It reminds me of Chamillionaire's song, which I like.
3. They rap pretty well.
4. The music video isn't a piece of crap.

I say Nay.
First off, I liked "Ridin." Really catchy and stuck-in-your-head friendly.
But now for "White & Nerdy." Yes, it does have the same catchiness as Ridin. But I mean... it's a Weird Al parody. That's all it's ever going to be credited as. It isn't a serious song (which there's nothing wrong with, really), but it should not be treated as an actual song. I don't think a music video should have been made, and it really is a waste of space on TRL and Vspot Top 20 for artists who are entertaining people in a different way than Weird Al is.

Nay
I kind of want to like it, but the background beat to Ridin' is so dreadfully cacaphonous that I can't listen to it at all, even if the lyrics are really different.
The lyrics to White and Nerdy are kind of lame, but at the same time the ones to Ridin' Dirty are much lamer, so what are you going to do?

It's a parody that really shouldn't be counted as an actual song...only funny the first time

Here's the problem with what you're saying. Most pop artists don't even write their own lyrics and don't play their own intruments for their songs so he's basically doing what most artists do except he actually came up with the hilarious lyrical content of the song.
Props to Weird Al for this song, it's one of the best of the year.

Jackass, Dr. House, and making fun of girls who only know how to talk about "Dr. McDreamy" and Grey's Anatomy during Friday morning classes.

Yay.
It's been a long time since Weird Al has released a decent song but let's rejoice, my fellow Eastern European brother is releasing quality again!

A big yay from me. I hated Chamillionaire's version, but when Weird Al got his hands on it, I couldn't stop laughing! He's the master of parody, and songs like this prove exactly why he's a genius.

I think the naysayers take the song way too seriously. It is novelty, it is parody. That's not its downfall, that's its whole point. Its one and only point is to make you laugh at its silliness. If you start to rip apart the beat, the lyrics, or even the fact that it's by Weird Al, you're doing too much.
Why in the hell does it bother people because it's charting among other "real" songs and videos? Just lighten up and look at it as a work of comedy (which it is). It's simply a comedic song/video, and it did its job: it amused me. Therefore, yay.

Yay of course. I liked Ridin but this is better. The lyrics are great and he can rap fast and not suck. Not to mention the video's hilarious

Actually, I disagree with that. Whether you like or dislike a song depends partially on beats and lyrics. The beat was already used, and the lyrics are the funny-the-first-time type. It's a song, but it's not a quality song if you know what I mean. I like songs by artists that actually develop a story in the lyrics, and have unforgettable beats.
It's too each his/her own.

IT'S A DAMN PARODY, LIGHTEN UP.
This is what Weird Al has made a profession out of and has been releasing parodies of popular songs for almost 25 years now. Haven't you ever heard of Like A Surgeon, Gump, Eat It, Fat, I Think I'm A Clone Now, or Smells Like Nirvana?

Well, I'll reserve prejudice based on your current #1 song and just say this: That's a great way to search for a really inspiring song. However, we're dealing with comedy here, through and through. It's not supposed to be anything else.
