Nickelback's success

I felt the need to make a thread about Nickelback's success, just because it blows me away! "All The Right Reason" just entered its 54TH week in release, and it is STILL in the TOP 10 albums on Billboard. I am so utterly impressed with these guys, its awesome! The album is already 4X Platinum and I'm sure will get to 5 or 6 with the holidays.
What do you think keeps these guys so effing popular???

The fact that they have done the same album for the past 5 years, and America loves the tried-and-tested, bland, unoriginal radio-rock sound[?] Not to mention they tour with like-minded piss-poor quality rock groups who are also unable to evolve and branch out [Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, et al,] to keep album sales up.
I'm expecting a smartass, atypical comment from you, bashing the artists I listen to, so here we go [again.]

Deal with the devil?
Chad Kroger gives amazing head?
Mass hypnosis?
It's still better then listening to Jibbs?
The world may never know.
Actually I think Johnny's just about right. The use the same formula over and over again, and people just eat it up. Clearly it's working for them, so if all they care about is the money, then there's no incentive to change it up. You'd think that that'd get unfullfilling after a while.

Three Days Grace's music does not sound the same. Their sound did change from their debut to their sophomore album.

TDG got much better
Nickelback's success...idk. A lot of people I guess like the messages of some songs and that's why they like them a lot. The sound might stay the same but the message changes

You know I'm actually amazed that the Nickelback songs I like best...such as "Animals" and "Feelin Way Too Damn Good" were two of their more unsuccessful songs.

exactly. and because they're not trying to change their image and style, unlike certain bands that are trying too hard to sound more "agressive" but it just comes boring *cough* korn *cough*

"Too Bad" and "Never Again" are the only Nickelback songs I'd ever say I have liked [besides their debut which nobody here has probably heard of.]

Pretty much every band that isn't afraid to change has succeeded, of course, sans Metallica. Incubus, Deftones, AFI, Korn, 311, nine inch nails--better than the typical **** that gets the most airplay and sales, because they are different.
And quit being a dickhole. Korn aren't trying to be anything, that's just you.

but they change in a natural way (excepting AFI)
i like the 1999's korn. i hope that they find the place that they deserve, but i think that they're not feeling comfortable with the music that they are doing these days.

Hey, you're not the only one who has listened to The State.
I think Nickelback had one really good album(The State), another decent album(Silver Side Up) and then, they stopped caring about evolving and started caring more about making money. All The Right Reasons might be one of the worst rock albums i've listened to.
As for why they are successful? I won't even mention "payola"(whoops, I just did). They make harmless, unprovoking music that appeals to women and to men that feel like they listen to "hard rock" but don't have the balls to listen to bands like Motorhead and Slayer. It's what's hot on the radio right now, sadly.
As for this whole Korn argument, I, personally, think See You On The Other Side is one of the three best albums Korn has made. It's not their most comfortable record, as they are still experimenting with their sound, but if SYOTOS is any indication, they will be just fine and, once they finish experimenting and find the sound they are looking for, might be able to get more respect.

Pretty much dead-on with Nickelback. I cannot believe so many people are buying and possibly loving All the Right Reasons. It's sad.
And I believe Korn's next album will definitely be more comfortable as the Head thing happened nearly 2 years ago. I'm not gonna say that people bash them 'cause it's the cool thing to do; that's obvious, but people need to get over the Korn from the 90's and accept the evolution already. That goes for those "different" bands I mentioned as well. If you're a bitch and can't do that, then just keep listening to the old albums; they're not gonna duplicate them for cavemen.

it's ridiculous. when i was in the states this summer, all i heard on the radio was nickelback. im so tired of them, their music is just bland conservative rock.

I love them. All The Right Reason is a good album, but why most of you hate it?
So far, theyre quite good to release potential singles. Thats why they're popular (besides payola), but they deserve it.

I've liked Nickelback since "Too Bad" came across my radio, and they do have a good LP in their hands currently. (all of course IMO)
Do SOME of their songs sound the same? Yes, but not all ~ as exaggerated by many anti-Nicelback fans. (Most of whom derive from certain Bandwagons and their 'followers'...)
^Do the alleged the sound comparisons/formulas bother me? Not a bit.
Are they hard-rock? For the very most part: Hell no. Besides, the last time I heard "Too Bad" on the radio, the song was then followed by Corinne Bailey Rae.
Does it bother or make me want to throw a bitch-fit when one of my favorite artists does something to profit so they can continue to make music while supporting themselves? In most cases, and unlike specific others here in PF, no.
The Payola incident? Not directly Nickelback's fault, see their record company, certain 'representitives', and managers. But besides that, the company didn't even fuel or take part in at least 95%+ of NB's prior success. The only shown push Payola provided was for "Far Away," and the CDs sold from that program's activation period when the single was released.
Have they gotten a lot of airtime since this last CD dropped. Holy she-iyt yes, especially here in Colorado with one of my pre-set radio stations. But its happend before with other Artists and their products such as Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway, Eminem's prior LPs before Curtain Call, and Green Day's American Idiot. Heck, our parents heard it with older artists such as the Beatles and Neil Diamond.
What's making them so appealing that they've possibly sold more CDs than some of the bands mentioned here in this thread? *See what Shade said*, and you'd have to ask the Nickelback fans directly. As for myself: For the big part, I've always liked a majority of their sounds - ie the music track in unison to the vocals. (Which is a generic answer, but that's what most fans of any of their artists would say.)
As for Chad being Jesus: pssht, if this is true, I will be looking down from a cloud in heaven at some of you roasting/craping away in a fiery and anal-probed hell.

I'm surprised that this CD has had more than one hit, unlike their past ones... however, they're getting overplayed, and I'm burning out on their songs more. However, I still like "Savin' Me" and think it's one of the best songs they did.
