According to Tommy2.net ( a reliable pop source), Epic records is going to re-release Oral FIxation 1 & 2 as a double cd set, though the release date is unknown. I guess Epic isn't happy with the sucess of "Hips Don't Lie".
Either that, or...they are adding the new "Illegal" radio edit to it. And maybe they recorded some new tracks. They really want this album to sell more than 'laundry service' which sold 3.4 million in US and 13 million worldwide.
Oral Fixation vol.2 - 1.5 million in US and 4.2 million worldwide.
They have a LONG way to go. Will the sales go towards both CDs?
That may have been Shakira's idea.... because she often says that her dream is to see her english-speaking fans listening to her spanish songs and vice versa
that was to be expected since we all knew that there were going to be 2 volumes of the album...now people who still haven't bought the albums can get the complete set in one package
i'll buy it only if it brings some extras otherwise there's no point in buy it because i already have both albums
It better have some new songs or special features. I think 1 or 2 new songs from each album would be a cool idea (even though it's super unlikely that she will do that). Either way, I will likely buy it as I need to buy another copy of "Fijacion Oral Vol. 1" anyways (that CD is enormously scratched up), lol.
that would be so pathetic... i mean we already know that her album flopped and was help it for an b-side that doeast sound as anything on the album...how patethic
The album didn't flop. Both albums have sold about 4 million worldwide, which means that in a little over a year Shakira managed to sell 8 million copies of her music. I doubt Epic Records and Sony BMG are complaining about that.
If Shakira really was intent on racking up the sales she would be promoting right now, instead of taking a 3+ month break from doing ANY promotion.

We don't know if Shakira has been in the studio the last 3 months or not. She could've done more tracks with Wyclef, maybe not collaborations or dance songs like HDL. But maybe a few good ballads and an extra dance song. This is an easy way to pull in sales. She knows what she wants. I never was a die-hard Shakira fan, but ever since 'La Tortura' and 'No', I've been pulled in. SHE'S WONDERFUL.
Oh Marc I really hope that's sarcasm cause in only a year Shakira has released 2 HIT albums, both went top 5 in the US. Both have sold 4 million worldwide, both have made records with singles. 'La Tortura' is the highest ranked latin song on the BB Hot 100. 'HDL' did basically everything from moving up into the top 20 with airplay alone, sold the most downloads in a week, which is being inducted into the Guiness Book of Recprds, and such on. Not only did 'La Tortura' break a BB Hot 100 record, it spent 25 weeks at #1 on Hot 100 latin tracks which is the longest amount of weeks ever.
[sorry to ramble but i hate reading ignorant comments]
Well last 3 months she has been touring...so nah...maybe new tracks that were left out of the fixations, doesn't mean they are bad songs...but she just doesn't feel related to them.
FOv2 sold only 4 million albums while Laundry service sold 13 million albums...
Fov1 sold 3 million albums...impresive for a latin album
but nevertheless 4 million for a english anticipated production is bad and more if its on he market since november....madonna COADF has sold near to 8 million albums worldwide and its has been out for the same time
