Lupe Fiasco brought back the jazz in hip hop, T.I., Ludacris, and Young Jeezy brought back the south, The Game and Snoop brought back the west coast, Eminem is bringing back the D, Jay-Z one of the best MC's of all time helped and so will Nas when his album drops. Don't worry those bad rap artists such as the Jibbs, Webstars (dance is sweet though), and the Yung Jocs will all die down and real rap will come to the main stream. Hip hop wasn't offically resurrected until September when The Game put out One Blood and Lupe's album dropped.

I half agree with you...

Most of the credit goes to Lupe, who after only one album, has established himself among the all-time greats of hip-hop (in my mind anyway). He refuses to conform to the genre's stereotypes - his raps have actual MEANING, rather than the generic guns, hoes, drugs garbage. He's a great rapper as well, but his real strength is in his amazing lyrics.

T.I.'s album was good too. He had some good songs, like What You Know and Why You Wanna, and he refrained from using a huge amount of the aforementioned drugs, hoes, and guns crap.

The Game's album hasn't dropped yet so I don't know how much credit you can give him, but "One Blood" was a decent song. Sure its a song about gang violence, but I loved the "you n----s better make up a dance to try to get radio play/keep on snappin your fingers I ain't goin away " line, because it calls out all that cheap crap that Lil Jon, Webstar, etc. are putting out.

I also agree that Nas and Jay's albums will help the state of hip-hop once they come out.

In what way did Ludacris resurrect hip-hop? He frustrates me SO much. He has loads of talent and lyrical ability, but he continues to make garbage like Money Maker because that's what sells.

I'm not a fan of Jeezy either...just another generic drugs/sex/gangs rapper. Its guys like him that cause hip-hop to be associated with all that bad stuff.

Eminem hasn't been a good rapper in like, 3-4 years. Snoop was good once too, but he is absolutely HORRIBLE now.

As much as I'd love to believe hip-hop is "resurrected", I just can't. Not when the Webstars and Jibbs and Ludacrises and Jeezys and Bow Wows and Yung Jocs and E-40s, etc. outnumber the Lupes and Jays and Nas's by so much.

After "Let's Ride" and no support from Dre, I'm really not looking out for "The Doctor's Advocate". We all know I'm a Lupe fan so kudos to him, and T.I.'s was good too. But you forgot Ghostface Killa's "Fishscale" was AMAZING, and so was Methond Man's new album

Ludacris keeps has the talent but also has the dissapointing factor and it's really getting old.

rapisalive, it's time to face the facts. Even with the introduction of Lupe and the eternal Nas, Hip-Hop is dead. Hip-Hop no longer exists and has died long before people think it has.

LMAO @ The Game resurrecting Hip-Hop. He does not possess that power in ANY way. And Candleguy, I've said the same thing about Ludacris so many times. It will never get through his head.

No it's just this board that thinks Hip Hop Is Dead because this is a pop music board not hip hop but if you go to youtube and look at comments at these good hip hop artists videos they are all good comments

Seriously, Lupe is carrying hip-hop on his shoulders until the release of Nas' new album. It's been just utter **** lately (I agree with rapisalive about Young Joc, Jibbs, and all those)

REAL rap will come back soon enough.

also one more point. another guy who released a great album this year that no one paid attention to was Rhymefest. his "Blue Collar" album was fantastic, and it's disappointing it got lost in the shuffle.

I suggest you all check it out. Last time I checked it was selling for less then $10 at Best Buy.

and this guy Termanology is pretty promising as well. he released this song "Watch How It Go Down" in June, and it's a monster of a song. DJ Premier(GOAT) produced it, and it's one of his best beats in a while. I don't think he's signed to a major yet, but I have a feeling he will very shortly.
