Why not Mary? WHY would Mary be beaten out by RIHANNA. Even I, Rihanna's husband lover for life, know that Mary is the queen of R&B. How did Rihanna take home her rightfully deserved awards?

I didn't watch (read) it, but do I care? Not sounding mean but I didn't really care for it. Sorry. Please don't ban me now

I thought it was allright, several crappy winners, but that's expected out of most award shows for me.

I think it's because Mary J. Blige had only 1 song that was a hit from her album (I did like Take Me As I Am and Enough Cryin'), but Rihanna had S.O.S. and Unfaithful out recently that were both hits and We Ride is on it's way, so with that, I think people just kind of forgot about Mary J. because she didn't have a hit since about Jan/Feb of this year.

Boring, predictable, unfair.

I can't say that I'm happy about all the winners either, but I explained that already. And I'll be honest; after I saw the results, I did think for the most part that they were boring and predictable. I was hoping for quite a few more shake-ups. (Though Rihanna surprised me the most, what can I say except her fans showed up?) The entire process is made to be as fair as possible, but I think I have an idea to make it even better.

I think my biggest issue this year were the nominees. In years past I've had panels where certain members were on a certain panel and that was that. But the past couple years I've had a large panel and everyone voted for everything. Maybe it would be best if I had posters vote on members who should be on the panel? That way not only are people who are well-versed in each genre be able to make nominations, but it's even more of an input from users.

They sucked, to say the least.

The nominees were fine, but the winners were, for the most part, absolute crap. For god's sake, Sean Paul beat Gnarls Barkley and Outkast for Rap Album. SEAN ****ING PAUL. I mean, come on.
