I agree with you, though that isn't to say there aren't queer voices being raised, we just don't hear/see it sadly. But that doesn't mean it's not happening, you just have to dig a bit deeper to find those figures fighting for queer rights and representation.
Whether one will rise to the legendary ranks of MLK is unknown, since the times were very different and MLK's tragic end did plenty to immortalize him. Not exactly an enviable fate, but it makes for cementing a legacy. (Though we do have Harvey Milk, though the fact you forgot to mention him is a bit telling).

It's an understandable frustration The fact that straight people will only listen to other straight people when it comes to LGBT+ issues or white people will only listen to other white people when it comes to racial issues.
They don't need one. While it would be super cool to have a gay or bi person speaking for them, it's not necessary to spread the message.
Also,Lady Gaga's Bi. Representing the B in LGBT. It really frustrates me when people think LGBT just means gay men. Although they are the biggest group, the other ones are there too. And are real. And deserve the same amount of respect.
