Yesss, and yeah they are probably not counting the one she put out years ago, this is her proper first album, if you get what I mean, I'm excited after hearing American Girl
Trouble was not a huge commercial success, so I think they really want to portray this as her debut despite that it's really her sophomore record. It's just a marketing tactic. To most of the world, she's new and they want to launch her that way.

Ok yeah, I was thinking it was for promotion. It gets more interest in her.
Remember, she wanted to change her name so she probably wanted to do a Katy where she separated herself totally from her true debut and create a brand sparkling new career for herself on a fresh slate.
September 1st would be an amaaazzzing birthday present for me, but it's a Sunday. Aren't albums released on Tuesdays? Could be the UK release date.
I absolutely cannot wait. "Trouble" remains one of my all time favorite albums.
I'm curious to see how her ballads have progressed in the past 9 years, cuz "Honey," Marble Steps," and "Somebody" all slayed. Maybe they'll be more in the vein of "Stars In Your Heart."
It's just a typo. Her official biography and press release call it her 2nd album, and even talk about when Warner entered a bidding war for her originally.
