What a win though. I think Willie did the right thing by getting Maine in the 4th inning, and giving it to the bullpen so early. You didn't want Maine to lose control of the game, which he could do, by losing his strike location and giving up singles/doubles.

And can anyone tell me WHY Grady Little is STILL managing? He brings out Brad Penny, game 4 starter from the bullpen, a guy, who ever Met player (besides I think Valentin) has a batting average over 310 against, brings him in a tie ball game, and has him pitch?

Tonight Glavine needs to give the Mets about 6-7 good innings, he's well rested, he's played in the post-season before. Try to jump on Hong-Chih Kuo early, if not, get to the Dodgers 'pen, hey they might bring out Penny again.

In other games, I'm really happy for the A's in a really strange way. They're just really fun to watch. More than just Barry Zito, Rich Harden, and Huston Street of course. I try to be serious, really. Interesting thing I heard this morning on the radio, what would happen if Twins won Game 3, would they put Santana out on short rest, for a game 4, or hope somebody else can get you a win that day, and then have him for game 5? I really root for the A's in this situation.

Padres and Cardinals aren't really that interesting to watch really. I expect a Pujols home-run, I expect hours and hours of talking from Boomer and Orel about how Pujols is 'the best player in the league, best player we've ever seen, mvp-king-of-the-world type talk the whole 3 or so hours, so nothing new there. Yankees will win, but I think the Tigers might get a game in there, and that one could be this weekend if Mussina doesn't have a sharp game, and everybody knows how Verlander is. (Am I the only one that feels bad that him and the Tigers had no idea what was going on during the rain delay thing? "I actually heard it from ESPN about the rain..." lol<3

That was a great game. Verlander, minus giving up the Damon homer was outstanding, especially in THAT line-up. What an UPSET it would be if the Tigers went back home and took the lead. I don't know, but they're playing good. (Esp. if it's the pitching match-up of the washed ups Friday night.)

Padres really could be done after this game. A four hit shutout, they didn't even TRY against that bullpen. The pitching is fine, I just think it's offense that isn't doing anything. And why not start Piazza in a game 2, you NEED. Only having Piazza for one at bat isn't enough.

Guess what y'all those damn Yankees are facin elimination after yesterday's game where Rogers pitched a great game and the Tigers shut them out 6-0. Go Tigers!!!! Take the series 3-1 today so it can be one of the biggest upsets in baseball history!

My ratings-through-the-roofs dream of a Subway series is now gone, and what an UPSET that is. The Yankees offense was completely shut down the Tigers. Kenny Rogers was absolutely brilliant in his performance Friday night by striking out 8 batters. Obviously, there was a problem with the Yankees offense. I’d go into detail, but I don’t feel like typing that much cos it’ll probably wake my mom (“Who are you typing to!!!!!!!!!!!!!”)

Cardinals and Padres have a good thing going there, Chris Young was outstanding, but why are the Padres putting Woody Williams out there? It’s a elimination game, and even the Cardinals are putting their ace on the mound. I think MAYBE the Pods should go with Jake Peavy, cos Williams will give up the runs & home runs.

Really proud of the Mets obviously. Everybody is stepping up and playing with heart. If a starting pitcher is having a problem, they go straight to the bullpen. When they score runs like that, nobody can beat them. After sweeping the Dodgers, it’s such ashame they had to go into the postseason as the underdogs.
