There aren’t many industries in which one can endure a season-ending injury and still finish the year on top. But that’s what happened to Lady Gaga, who ranks highest of all musicians on the 2013 edition of FORBES’ Celebrity 100 power list.
The Queen Monster earned $80 million over the past 12 months–and would have banked even more had it not been for a hip injury that cut her Born This Way Ball BLL -0.28% Tour short. The excursion grossed $168 million through January; had Gaga been able to finish the tour, she would have likely topped $200 million. Even so, her massive social media presence—including 38 million Twitter followers and 58 million Facebook FB -0.39% fans—helps make her the top musician on our list.
"She is still a huge force in pop music. Even when she is not playing, people are talking about her and speculating about her," Pomerantz said.

I believe she has created a very strong brand and empire, which will make it very difficult for anyone else to touch the throne
No one is untouchable. She is up there on the list due to her year long tour, not cuz she is the queen of pop.
Her status remains to be seen with the forthcoming release of ARTPOP.

I didn't see the Monsters rushing to create threads to say the JLo was the Queen of Pop last year, and she was #1. GaGa is only #2 this year and she's supposedly "untouchable."
If there is anything we have learned recently it is that Gaga's throne can be touched! It's up to her to maintain her power and show these Billboard stars what a true legend is all about
