I used to love his SO much back in 5th grade. I first started to get into him at the repast for my grandmother's funeral in early December 2007. I had watched his 'Thriller' video for the first time a number of months earlier under circumstances I don't feel like going into. Thriller 25 had just come out, and my family was in mourning, and I was enjoying some time with my cousins. Some of my second cousins on my mom's side and I just started talking about him. A month or so later, one of my first cousins from my dad's side + her boyfriend took my brother and I out shopping and I bought a copy of Thriller 25. I remember we were watching the Thriller era music videos on DVD in their living room. (My cousin kept saying he was a pedophile and used the fact that he had a perm as proof. )
It was a wrap.
I just listened to his music and watched his videos and sang his songs and tried to learn his choreography for months on end. I remember defending him to the death everywhere someone talked **** about him. I even printed out pictures of his blotchy skin and brought them to school one day just to prove that he had vitiligo and was not bleaching his skin. I would tear the child molestation accusations down with such VITRIOL.

I find it funny how I discovered Michael sang. I didn't know he sang until I watched some playlist on BET with Ciara on it and they played Remember the Time. Until then, I just knew him as a pedophile. (I was like 8 okay? And my dad never played music in the house nor he did ever really talk about Michael. ). But Rock WIth You, Billie Jean, Bad, Remember the Time and You Rock My World are all excellent.
