To say that Lady Gaga didn't damage her brand with the 'Born This Way' era would be moronic. However, it is up for debate
how much she damaged her brand. Some will argue that the damage was minuscule whereas others will insist that she completely ruined the 'Lady Gaga' brand she built up from 2008-February 2011.
Rate the damage you think Gaga did to her brand from 1-10, 1 being minor damage to 10 being career suicide (don't troll):
I personally feel that the damage Gaga did to her brand ranks as a 3/10. In 2010, Gaga was seen as "cool" and "edgy," but I feel that her showing her more human and vulnerable side w/BTW dragged her street cred down, she went from being seen as mysterious to everyone knowing a lot more about her background within a few months. Her image was also one of the main reasons that her brand was damaged, and I feel that the 'horns' and Jo Calderone were way over the top and too weird for the public to ingest.
However, I do feel that despite this, the damage to her brand isn't that bad considering that after a few months out of the spotlight after the BTW era ended, the BTW Ball became a blockbuster success with huge ticket sales around the world (yes, even in South America where she still sold 40k tickets despite the
pre-showpics that were used by trolls pretending they were from the main show to justify the Gaga is fading arguments), with the BTW Ball her touring power increased, after an extra few months without releasing any music her perfume was a HUGE success and she was still the most talked about female entertainer of 2012 (

Keep it on topic.
